Arsenal announce the signing of teenage goalkeeper | OneFootball

Arsenal have announced the signing of Danish goalkeeper Isabella Damm on a permanent transfer from Brondby IF.

The 18-year-old becomes Arsenal’s sixth addition to their women’s side this summer with Ona Batlle and Georgia Stanway among those to have already joined the club.

“I’m so proud to be joining Arsenal and I can’t wait to get started,” Damm said. “Arsenal is a great club and I’m excited to develop as a player and as a person here and help the club achieve more success.

“I’ve had the experience of training here before and I know the environment here is the right one for me to progress.”

The teenager joins Anneke Borbe and Daphne van Domselaar in the goalkeeping department, and Arsenal boss Renee Slegers was full of praise for the new signing.

“Isabella is an exciting young goalkeeper with a strong foundation to build on,” she said. “Her technical ability, composure and bravery are already clear, and she has a high ceiling for growth and progression. Along with our goalkeeping coaches and wider staff, we’ll support her development as she starts her journey here at Arsenal.”

Arsenal’s director of women’s football Clare Wheatley echoed the praise given by Slegers, “We’re really pleased to bring Isabella to the club. She’s a player we’ve been monitoring for some time and we believe she’s one of the best young goalkeepers in Europe in her age group.

“We’re looking forward to seeing her grow and develop within our goalkeeping set-up here at Arsenal.”
