In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Arsenal are locked in a three-way battle for Inter Milan talent Denzel Dumfries. It has been stated that the Gunners would have to compete with Manchester United and Chelsea in the race to land the Dutch full-back next year.
Dumfries enjoyed a decent run of form at the Italian club in the previous campaign when he put in a handful of impressive displays on the right side of their backline. The 29-year-old participated in 47 matches for Inter Milan last season, scoring 11 times and earning six assists in all competitions.
The Dutch full-back performed his defensive duties well as he made 25 tackles, 31 blocks, 6 interceptions and 26 clearances in Serie A. He even distributed the ball relatively well after completing 72.6% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Italian football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at San Siro will run out in the summer of 2028. Thus, the Gunners would have to make a convincing offer if they want to recruit the Dutch talent next year.

Dumfries loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when required and can even chip in by scoring and creating a lot of important goals for his team from the right flank.
The Dutch sensation is primarily a right-back but can also play as a right-sided wide player if told to do so. However, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Gunners manage to bring him on board this summer.
Dumfries would enhance the quality of Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta’s match-day squad. He is good enough to challenge Jurrien Timber for a regular starting role at the North London club.
At 29, Dumfries is still playing in his prime. We can expect to add more quality to Arsenal’s backline and help them compete for some major honours over the next few years. Thus, Arteta should focus on getting him on board soon.
