Arsenal are likely to be fuming after hearing what Manchester City are trying to do. Man City are desperate to pip the Gunners and Mikel Arteta to the Premier League title and are doing all they can to ensure their remaining fixtures favour them. The Emirates Stadium club returned to the top of the table following a 1-0 win over Newcastle United at home on Saturday in a huge boost for their title chances. However, Man City have a game in hand having played in the FA Cup semi-final on the same day. They take on Chelsea in the final of the competition on May 16 and are pushing the Premier League to reschedule their league games against Crystal Palace and Bournemouth, according to an insider on Twitter.

The anonymous Arsenal fan and commentator on football financial and business matters appears to be a credible source as he is followed by the likes of Kaveh Solhekol, Gary Jacob, Miguel Delaney and Jacob Steinberg. While it had been expected that Man City would now face Palace on May 13 at home before taking on Bournemouth on May 19 away, Pep Guardiola’s side are trying to swap them.

Man City are trying to ensure they play the Palace game after facing the Cherries so as to play their last two league games at the Etihad. Arsenal will be fuming if the Premier League grant City’s request and it will be intriguing to see how things go.

The title would be decided on the final day of the season if both teams keep winning their league games, and no club should get any advantage to the detriment of the other.

Arsenal are back in action on Wednesday when they visit Spain to take on Atletico Madrid in the first-leg of their Champions League semi-final tie.

They return to Premier League action on Saturday with a home game against Fulham before hosting the La Liga club in the second-leg next Tuesday.

Man City are not back in action until next Monday when they take on Everton away from home, and the Gunners will hope the Toffees can do them some favours.
