Arsenal ‘explore possibility’ of surprise swap deal and continue to work on winger signing – latest transfer reports | OneFootball

Arsenal have reportedly explored the possibility of a swap deal involving Viktor Gyokeres and Julian Alvarez.

TalkSport claim the Gunners “explored the possibility of offering Viktor Gyokeres as a makeweight during initial talks with Atletico Madrid”.

Alvarez is a target for Arsenal, but a deal would not be easy to do given the Argentinian’s price tag and Atletico’s reluctance to let him go.

Gyokeres enjoyed a solid first season with the Gunners, and Hayters understands that it is unlikely he leaves this summer unless a huge offer is made.

Alvarez is believed to prefer a move to Barcelona, and Mundo Deportivo report that Atletico’s Spanish rivals will resume their attempts to sign him after the World Cup.

Arsenal also continue to work on a deal to sign Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge, following the departure of Leandro Trossard.

Elsewhere, Manchester United have completed the signing of Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa and are still keen on further bolstering their midfield.

But Sky Sports say United are facing competition from Roma for the signature of West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville.

Aston Villa have announced another departure too, with Lewis Dobbin joining Southampton in a permanent deal.

Meanwhile, Sunderland have completed the free transfer of former Borussia Dortmund and PSG defender Thomas Meunier.

And Bournemouth are keen on Benfica defender António Silva, also according to Sky Sports.
