Arsenal are ready to intensify their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola as they explore alternatives to Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, according to the BBC.

Rogers’ £130 million valuation is proving too much for the Gunners, and they have now turned to the Frenchman, who bagged 13 goals and seven assists in 49 appearances last term.

Arsenal have admired Barcola for some time and sent representatives to watch him during France’s World Cup last-32 clash against Sweden on Tuesday evening.

While Rogers remains one of Arsenal’s top attacking targets this summer, Villa’s firm stance over the England international has forced the north London club to look at other options.

Barcola has now emerged as one of the leading alternatives on the club’s shortlist.

The 23-year-old enjoyed another impressive campaign with the Champions League winners, clinching multiple titles for the second successive season.

His ability to find holes in the opposition rearguard is remarkable, and so is his shooting. He misses many big chances, but it speaks to his ability to get into great positions.

PSG won’t make it easy, as he remains under contract until 2028.

However, Arsenal have received encouragement that PSG could be open to discussing a transfer should the right offer arrive.

PSG continue to work on a move for RB Leipzig attacker Yan Diomande, with any arrival expected to increase competition for places and potentially pave the way for Barcola’s departure.

Any deal for the French winger is also expected to cost considerably less than the fee Aston Villa are demanding for Rogers, making him an attractive option for Arsenal.

Liverpool are also monitoring Barcola’s situation, which could mean Arsenal face competition if PSG formally make the player available.

Elsewhere, Arsenal are exploring the goalkeeping market as uncertainty surrounds Kepa Arrizabalaga’s future. Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier has emerged as a serious option.

The 26-year-old is available on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract, making him an appealing low-cost solution.
