PSG have plenty of midfield depth, but concerns about their lack of size persist—one reason they’re reportedly considering a move for a veteran from Arsenal.
At 6-foot-2 (1.89 meters), Fabian Ruiz is the tallest regular in the rotation, but there’s a clear drop-off in height beyond him. Senny Mayulu, listed at 6 feet (1.83 meters), adds some length, though the 18-year-old is still developing. Outside of that, PSG lack a true physical presence in central midfield.
That could push the club to target a more imposing option this summer—ideally one who fits Luis Enrique’s possession-first approach without disrupting the rhythm of play.
A more experienced addition could also bring balance to a young core PSG have been building over recent transfer windows.
With that in mind, Arsenal’s Thomas Partey has emerged as a potential target. According to Arsenal insider Charles Watts, the Gunners haven’t opened contract talks with Partey, whose deal expires this summer. Barcelona, Juventus, and PSG are all reportedly monitoring the situation.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that Partey is set to leave Arsenal after the club and player failed to reach an agreement on a new contract. He’ll be available on a free transfer this summer.
A recent report revealed that Barcelona have emerged as his preferred destination, with Mundo Deportivo claiming the LaLiga side are closely monitoring his status. Financially, they view him as a potential bargain.
Partey will have the opportunity to pick his next team and see what they have to offer, which comes when a player opts to become a free agent.
