WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Gunners this morning.
The 26-year-old joined Arsenal on a free transfer in summer 2023 after leaving former club Manchester United. The player has gone on to make 72 appearances for the North Londoners in all competitions in which she has scored 36 goals. Russo has won the Subway Women’s League Cup and the UEFA Women’s Champions League as an Arsenal player.
Russo is a big part of what Arsenal want to achieve in the coming years and the club have therefore moved to extend her terms.
After signing on again at the Emirates Stadium, Russo said “Arsenal feels like home. This is such a special club and it has felt that way to me from the moment I joined two years ago. Playing for Arsenal is an honour and has pushed me to develop and grow as a player, and I feel empowered with this badge on my chest.
“I’m so proud of everything we’ve achieved together as a club, with our supporters driving us forward. But I’m still so hungry for more success, and I know that’s shared by everyone here at the club. I can’t wait to get started this season, starting with this Saturday at Emirates Stadium.”
Arsenal kick-off the new Barclays Women’s Super League season with a home fixture against London City Lionesses tomorrow.
