Noni Madueke has completed his move to Arsenal, joining from Chelsea after three years at the South London club.
The deal is reportedly worth £48 million, with an additional £4 million in potential add-ons. It’s seen as a smart piece of business by the Gunners, especially given that other players have departed for similar fees.
The England international enjoyed a solid campaign with Chelsea last season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta’s side continue to strengthen ahead of next season as they aim to mount another challenge for the Premier League title.
This marks Arsenal’s fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martín Zubimendi, and Christian Nørgaard.
Viktor Gyökeres is close to finalising his move, with only minor details left to be resolved, potentially giving the Gunners the striker they’ve been searching for.
Meanwhile, Cristhian Mosquera looks set to become the next name through the door as Arsenal’s summer recruitment drive continues.
Manager Mikel Arteta spoke about the transfer and what Madueke will bring to the frontline ahead of next season:
“We’re all so happy to welcome Noni Madueke to the team,” said Arteta.
“Noni is an exciting and powerful young player, with his performances and numbers in recent seasons being of consistently high quality. He is one of the most talented wide forward players in the Premier League.
“At just 23, Noni already brings experience of club and international football, and he knows the Premier League very well. Having seen the quality of Noni’s performances up close in recent seasons, we’re really excited he is joining us.”
