One of the most anticipated transfer sagas of the summer is gathering momentum, as Premier League clubs eagerly compete for Crystal Palace’s dynamic midfielder, Eberechi Eze. The 27-year-old England international has enjoyed a remarkable rise in recent seasons, making him a prime target for some of the biggest clubs in English football. Arsenal, currently leading the charge, have set their sights firmly on Eze, who is said to have a £68 million release clause.
Sources close to the agent industry have informed CaughtOffside that Arsenal are currently at the forefront of the race to land the highly-rated midfielder. Despite growing interest from other clubs, Arsenal’s approach to securing the player appears measured and strategic.

Mikel Arteta’s side are reportedly preparing an offer of £30 million up front, with the remaining £38 million to be paid in instalments over the next two years. While negotiations continue, Arsenal are not rushing the deal, with the club willing to wait until Crystal Palace find a suitable replacement before finalising the transfer.
Importantly, the Gunners have also shown an interest in using winger Reiss Nelson as part of a player-plus-cash arrangement. This strategy could potentially help smooth over the deal if Palace accept the terms.
The potential acquisition of Eze fits Arsenal’s ambitions perfectly. Arteta sees the midfielder as a versatile option who can offer cover for Martin Ødegaard in midfield while also providing competition for Gabriel Martinelli on the left wing. Eze’s ability to contribute to both goals and assists makes him an ideal addition to Arsenal’s attacking options.
However, the competition for Eze’s signature is fierce. Bayern Munich are reportedly considering a move for the player, particularly due to the prospect of reuniting him with his former teammate at Palace, Michael Olise. This connection may provide a strong incentive for Eze to consider a switch to the Bundesliga, but Arsenal’s strong bid remains a major pull.

Not to be left behind, Liverpool have entered the race, reportedly eyeing Eze as a potential addition to their forward line. With uncertainty surrounding the future of Luis Díaz, this could be seen as a strategic move to refresh their attacking options. Meanwhile, Chelsea have also kept tabs on the situation, though they have yet to commit to meeting the full release clause.
In addition, both Manchester City and Manchester United have made early contact with Eze’s representatives, hinting at further Premier League interest. Tottenham, on the other hand, seem to have shifted focus to other targets, potentially giving Arsenal a clear path to seal the deal.
As it stands, Eze’s stock continues to rise, with his 14 goals and 11 assists from the previous season demonstrating his growing influence on the pitch. His contributions were pivotal in helping Crystal Palace win the FA Cup, with the team overcoming Manchester City in a dramatic final.

Palace manager Oliver Glasner has been full of praise for Eze, describing him as an “unbelievable” player. The question now is whether the Premier League clubs vying for his signature can match his value both on and off the pitch.
For Arsenal fans, it is impossible not to be excited about the prospect of Eberechi Eze joining the club. His versatility and attacking prowess make him a perfect fit for Mikel Arteta’s system. While there is competition, Arsenal’s position at the front of the queue is promising, and the potential addition of Reiss Nelson as part of the deal could give us the edge.
Eze’s ability to not only score but also assist in key moments would add another dimension to our attack. His capacity to cover for Martin Ødegaard is an area where we have struggled in the past, and Eze could seamlessly integrate into the midfield. Arsenal’s cautious approach in waiting for Crystal Palace to secure a replacement demonstrates a level of professionalism that should be applauded.
While Bayern Munich and Liverpool pose significant threats, the allure of playing under Arteta’s guidance in a team that is on the rise makes Arsenal an attractive destination. Eze’s potential move to the Emirates could further solidify our push for top honours next season. For now, all eyes are on the final stages of this thrilling transfer race.
