Former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira is in line to return to management with Serie A side Genoa.
The Frenchman managed just one season at the helm of Strasbourg, Chelsea's sister side, before being relieved of his duties during pre-season.
Now on the hunt for the fifth senior management job of his career, Vieira is expected to sign on with Serie A outfit Genoa, with Fabrizio Romano revealing an agreement is in place for the 48-year-old to take charge.
Genoa parted ways with Alberto Gilardino on Tuesday and are expected to announce Vieira as his replacement imminently.
A move to Genoa, who are 17th in the Serie A standings, will see Vieira link up with former Manchester City teammate Mario Balotelli, who joined Genoa in the summer and is still waiting for his first goal.
Vieira's introduction to life in management came through City, working in the academy before taking charge of New York City FC, but he has previously left the door open to returning to the Arsenal dugout.
"Let's say that one day, it may interest me," he told L'Equipe in 2018. "Someday. I can't say more than that because there’s nothing more to say."
