Arsenal make €11m bid for Brentford midfielder | OneFootball

Arsenal have made an offer of €11million (£9.3m) for Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard.

Mikel Arteta’s options in midfield are stretched despite the imminent arrival of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, with the Gunners having failed to agree terms on a new contract for Thomas Partey. With Jorginho having also exited for Flamengo, Norgaard is being targeted as an option to add depth.

The 31-year-old has been a key part of Brentford’s consolidation in the Premier League. He captained Brentford to a top-half finish in 2024/25, scoring five times and providing four assists. The Denmark international also ranked among the Premier League’s top performers for dribblers tackled (9th) and interceptions (8th).

Danish journalist Mads Wehlast has confirmed Arsenal’s bid for Norgaard with the North Londoners awaiting a response from their London rivals. Norgaard is contracted to Brentford until 2027 after signing a new two-year deal earlier this year.

The midfielder joined Brentford from Brondby in 2019 and has made 196 appearances for the Bees in all competitions. At international level, he’s won 35 caps for Denmark.

Norgaard could become the latest big name to leave Brentford. Thomas Frank has departed to take charge at Tottenham Hotspur, while Manchester United are pushing to sign last season’s leading scorer, Bryan Mbeumo. The Red Devils have submitted a second offer for the Cameroon international, worth in the region of £60m.

In addition to the offer for Norgaard, Arsenal are closing in on the £5m signing of Spain goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea. Kepa is set to move to the Emirates after an impressive loan spell at Bournemouth last season.
