Arsenal midfielder Christian Norgaard is reportedly set to undergo a medical on Tuesday ahead of joining Everton.

Everton have reached an agreement with the Gunners to bring the Dane to the Hill Dickinson Stadium club in a £7 million deal.

Norgaard will become the Toffees’ fourth signing of the summer transfer window after David Moyes’ side completed deals for Hayden Hackney, Tyrique George and Merlin Rohl earlier in the window.

The Arsenal midfielder will be a direct replacement for Idrissa Gueye after the Senegalese left following the expiration of his contract.

Norgaard spent four seasons at Brentford before joining Arsenal last summer, and the 32-year-old brings much-needed experience and leadership to the Everton dressing room.

He was the Bees’ captain and his dedication has impressed the Gunners stars.

Norgaard was always one of the last to leave the Arsenal training ground last season, with midfielder Martin Zubimendi labelling him the ‘best trainer’ at the club.

Leandro Trossard also claimed that the Toffees target was the player who made everyone raise their level on a day-to-day basis.

Everton are getting a top professional and his wealth of experience will come in handy at the Merseyside club.

Declan Rice revealed that Norgaard had been vocal in the dressing room in the tough moments ahead of Arsenal’s title triumph, and the Toffees could do with such a player in their dressing room.
