Arsenal prepare first official bid for Vinicius Jr. as Real Madrid improve renewal offer – report | OneFootball

Vinicius Jr. remains one of, if not the best winger in world football, and it is shocking that Real Madrid have allowed him to enter the final year of his contract without any extension agreed.

Needless to say, Los Blancos are now paying for their poor decision as the player is using the situation to his benefit.

Vinicius now demands better terms, on par with those of Kylian Mbappe, to renew and the club find their backs against the wall. They refuse to improve their offer and are open to selling him now – something Arsenal have taken a keen interest in.

First offer incoming

As reported by Florian Plettenberg in a recent update, Arsenal are now preparing the first official offer to send to Real Madrid and Vinicius in the hope of signing him this summer. The player’s camp has already been informed that the proposal will be received shortly.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, are also not wasting any time. The club are said to have sent an improved offer to the Brazilian in recent hours, hoping to reach an agreement over a renewal.

After all, they are aware that once Arsenal’s economically superior offer arrives, positions will no longer be as clear, nor will the decision for Vinicius himself.

An English record fee is needed

The current record transfer in the Premier League is Alexander Isak who moved to Liverpool for a fee of £125 million, which amounts to nearly €150 million.

For a player of Vinicius’ stature, however, the fee is expected to be much higher and all signs indicate that the British record fee will have to be broken for him to move to England.

Notably, Arsenal will also have to accommodate Vinicius’ wages which are far higher than their current salary structure. Vinicius currently earns £400,000 a week and will demand a raise if he changes clubs – something that will immediately make him Arsenal’s highest earner.

It remains to be seen what Vinicius makes of his situation and eventually decides, especially given that he now has an improved proposal from Real Madrid and that a first offer from Arsenal is incoming.

The player prefers to stay, but his situation will continue to be a grey area until a final decision is reached.
