Tottenham headed into Saturday's WSL derby with Arsenal hoping to avoid another sloppy start.

Robert Vilahamn's side had conceded early on in their previous outing against Manchester City and history repeated itself at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It took little more than a minute for the hosts to fall behind as Alessia Russo swept home a first-time finish past Becky Spencer inside the penalty area.

A dream start for the Gunners culminated in a 3-0 win as their north London rivals were punished for further lapses in concentration.
