Arsenal receive nominations for Manager and Goal of the Month | OneFootball

Mikel Arteta has been nominated for Manager of the Month and Arsenal have received two nominations for Goal of the Month for September.

The Premier League have confirmed their nominees for their various monthly awards, and Arsenal have been included on the shortlists for both Manager of the Month and Goal of the Month for September.

Mikel Arteta is of course Arsenal’s Manager of the Month nominee, up alongside Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, and Sunderland’s Regis Le Bris.

Arteta’s Arsenal won two Premier League matches and drew one in September, the same as Glasner and Guardiola’s sides. All three are worthy nominees, as is Le Bris for managing promoted Sunderland to a win and two draws.

As for the Goal of the Month award, Martin Zubimendi has been nominated for one of his two strikes against Nottingham Forest, whilst Gabriel Martinelli has made the shortlist for his late goal against Manchester City.

Zubimendi was nominated for his volley from the edge of the penalty area, as opposed to the headed goal later in the game. It was an impressive hit with perfect technique, flying past the goalkeeper.

As for Martinelli, the Brazilian winger expertly finished a fantastic long pass from Eberechi Eze by chipping over Gianluigi Donnarumma using the outside of his foot.
