Paris Saint-Germain are shifting their approach under sporting advisor Luis Campos, focusing less on signing high-profile stars and more on developing young talent. However, growing interest that could jeopardize Campos’ future with PSG.
During his three years in Paris, Campos has brought in promising players like Vitinha, Bradley Barcola, and João Neves. Before his time at PSG, he enjoyed success at AS Monaco and LOSC Lille, earning a reputation for smart recruitment.
Reports suggest Arsenal are eyeing Campos as a potential replacement for Edu Gaspar, who recently stepped down.
According to Sky Sports, Arsenal’s interest surfaced after recent future-planning meetings in Los Angeles following Edu’s unexpected resignation. With Campos’ contract at PSG set to expire at the end of the season, he has emerged as a leading candidate for the position.

RMC Sport pundit Daniel Riolo stated that Campos is in extension talks with PSG but confirmed that Arsenal and even Saudi Arabia could be looking to lure the club chief out of the French capital.
“He’s currently in talks to renegotiate and extend his stay,” Riolo said on After Foot RMC (h/t Le10Sport). “There’s also a proposal from Saudi Arabia for him to take on a role as a promoter or key figure in football development there, especially with the 2034 World Cup on the horizon.”
“Campos is in the middle of these renegotiations, so it’s no surprise that there’s interest in him. He has a strong relationship with [Mikel] Arteta. I mentioned last year that Campos had considered Arteta for PSG during the summer.
“Their connection means that now, as Arsenal looks for a sporting director—they’re already considering Monaco’s director—Campos is also on their radar. Arteta knows him well.”
