Arsenal could be set for an unexpected financial boost this summer if former academy graduate Folarin Balogun completes a move away from Monaco.

According to talkSPORT, several Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on the striker following his impressive performances for the United States at the ongoing World Cup.

Brighton & Hove Albion, Leeds United, Coventry City and Hull City are among the clubs monitoring Balogun’s progress, making the Premier League his most likely landing spot this summer.

The 24-year-old bagged 19 goals in 43 games across all competitions for AS Monaco last season, helping them secure Europa Conference League football with a seventh-place finish.

Balogun has picked up where he left off at the World Cup, helping the US reach the knockout stage.

He already has two goals to his name and will hope to add to his tally when Mauricio Pochettino’s side play Turkey on Friday.

Balogun’s performances have boosted his profile, and becoming the first US player to score a brace in a World Cup match since 1930 has undoubtedly raised a few eyebrows.

While Arsenal no longer have control over Balogun’s future, they’re still in line to benefit financially from his success, which is expected to pay off this summer.

Balogun left Arsenal for Monaco in 2023 in a deal worth around £34 million, and the deal did not include a buy-back clause.

However, Arsenal’s negotiators secured an important sell-on clause.

Under the terms of the deal, the Gunners are entitled to 17.5 percent of any future transfer fee if Monaco sell Balogun before his contract expires.

Monaco are reportedly open to offers and could demand around £43m. If a club meets that valuation, Arsenal would receive roughly £7.56m without having to lift a finger.
