Arsenal attacker Gabriel Martinelli has emerged as a ‘popular option’ among Galatasaray’s winger targets for the summer transfer window.

The Gunners have already reinforced the left flank this summer with the £34m arrival of Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge.

Mikel Arteta’s side are also pursuing Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr as their dream addition on the left wing.

Arsenal have been going all out to prise the Brazilian away from Real Madrid, although Los Blancos continue working towards a contract renewal, with current indications suggesting he is likely to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu on an improved deal.

Meanwhile, the north London outfit have also overseen a departure on the left flank, with Leandro Trossard joining Besiktas earlier in the window.

Now another left-sided winger could be bound for Turkish football, with Galatasaray’s ‘shortlist of wingers also includes’ Gabriel Martinelli as a potential option, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Turkish champions are currently prioritising a move for Rafael Leao, who has also been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.

The Cimbom have already tabled an offer for the Portuguese international, but AC Milan ‘deemed it inadequate’, leaving the pursuit without a breakthrough.

Leao is also believed to have been offered to Manchester United and Leeds United, although no move is close for the player.

Should Galatasaray fail to strike an agreement for Leao, Martinelli could swiftly move to the forefront of their plans, with the winger regarded as a ‘popular option’.

The Brazilian has just one year remaining on his current deal, alongside an additional one-year option, leaving it to be seen whether Arsenal would entertain proposals should Galatasaray intensify their interest.

It also remains to be seen whether Martinelli would be willing to make the move to Turkish football.
