Arsenal star sends message to departing Real Sociedad boss Imanol | OneFootball

Arsenal star Mikel Merino has early this week sent a message of appreciation the way of Real Sociedad head coach Imanol.

This, of course, comes ahead of the Spaniard’s imminent departure from Anoeta.

Imanol has long announced his decision to bring to a close his legendary stint on the Real Sociedad bench upon the season’s end.

On Sunday evening, the 53-year-old therefore oversaw his final home fixture in San Sebastian, a 3-2 La Liga victory over struggling Girona.

In the game’s aftermath, Imanol was serenaded by La Real’s fans and players alike, keen to make clear their love and support for one of the most beloved figures in the club’s history.

And as alluded to above, a similar sentiment has since been echoed by Arsenal midfielder Mikel Merino.

After the 28-year-old enjoyed the finest years of his career to date under Imanol’s watch at Anoeta, Merino took to his official Instagram account, to repost footage of the tactician’s Sociedad farewell, accompanied by the captions:
