Arsenal ‘to make’ Morgan Rogers top target as Wolves consider Pedro Lima call, Gomes move stalls | OneFootball

Arsenal are reportedly making Aston Villa and England attacker Morgan Rogers their top target, and the 23-year-old is said to be keen on the move, according to Talksport.

Black Country-born Rogers is also due to feature again for England on Tuesday. He has shone for Unai Emery’s Europa League winners Villa, and any exit is likely to hinge on a significant fee.

It is understood Wolves will take their time over a decision on right-back Pedro Lima. Atletico Mineiro are interested in a season-long loan for the 19-year-old that could include an option to buy, and are awaiting Wolves’ stance.

Joao Gomes’ proposed switch to Atletico Madrid has been a long-running saga. The Brazil international, a Wolves player since 2023, missed their final game of the season with the move said to be set to go ahead.

A fee of €40m, around £34.5m, had been touted, but suggestions are that progress has hit a stumbling block. Atleti still want midfield reinforcements, yet are not minded to meet that price despite personal terms previously being in place with Gomes.
