A staggering number of people celebrated the Gunners’ Premier League title win

Early estimates suggested that as many as 750,000 supporters would line the streets of north London to celebrate Arsenal lifting their first Premier League title in 22 years.

But that figure is now said to be more than a million after Islington Council posted on X to confirm they had enlisted the help of extra staff to assist with the clean-up procedure.

It also added that Arsenal would cover the costs involved in cleaning up the streets after a huge day of celebration in north London.

Arsenal staged their trophy parade less than 24 hours after tasting defeat in the Champions League final on penalties against Paris Saint-Germain.

Despite the bittersweet context, though, supporters turned out in droves to show their appreciation for Mikel Arteta’s side.

“Our teams are working hard to clean up after yesterday’s parade – and what a day it was!” the tweet read.

“With over a million people attending, it’s a major clean-up. We’re getting through it as quickly as we can, so please bear with us while we get the borough back to its best

“We’ve brought in extra staff to help speed things up, with clean-up costs covered by the club.

“If you spot anything that needs clearing, report it on the Love Clean Streets app or My Islington.
