Arsenal website crashes during pre-season friendly leaving fans unable to view game they paid for | OneFootball

Arsenal fans were left short-changed after the live stream for the Gunners’ pre-season friendly cut off during the first half of the match against Girona.

Kai Havertz had given Arsenal the lead having received a delightful pass from 16-year-old Max Dowman before slipping it past the goalkeeper with a left-footed finish.

Supporters had been able to watch the opening goal, which occured in the 16th minute, before the live stream of the game - airing on Arsenal’s website and app cut off.

Refeshing the page where the match could be accessed - on Arsenal’s pay-per-view tab - only yielded a message that read: “No data available.”

Understandably, fans took to social media to decry their frustration with many voicing their displeasure at paying for a stream they couldn’t access.

“I’m screaming @Arsenal for not being able to use the technology properly,” one user on X, formerly Twitter, as the match entered half-time with the broadcast having been cut off for 25 minutes.

The broadcast cut off around the 21st minute and fans missed Christos Tzolis - one of Arsenal’s new signings - scoring his first goal for the club as he cut in from the left wing to drill a fine effort into the far bottom corner.

The technical issues didn’t affect all supporters with some noting that the game could still be watched on the Arsenal app though those watching via the Arsenal website seemed to experience the bulk of the issues. The coverage resumed during the half-time break.

Once the live stream resumed on the website and app, the commentators apologised for any issues experienced.

Arsenal’s pre-season fixtures are all available to view on their website and app via a pa-per-view subscription. Each game costs £6.99 to watch individually or there are bundles available. Fans can purchase a full pre-season pass for £14.99 or £9.99 if they paid for an early bird pass which expired at 9am on August 1st.
