Arsenal’s summer transfer window continues to gather pace, with Mikel Arteta’s squad taking shape ahead of the new Premier League campaign. While the Gunners have already strengthened in key areas, there is still plenty of speculation surrounding both arrivals and departures as the window enters another busy week.

Here’s a round-up of the latest developments.

Confirmed arrivals continue to strengthen Arteta’s squad

Arsenal have continued to add quality to their squad this summer, with the arrival of Christos Tzolis adding further attacking depth. The Greek international joins a growing list of new faces as Arteta looks to build a squad capable of defending the Premier League title while also challenging for Champions League glory.

The additions made so far have addressed several areas of the squad, but many supporters still believe there could be more business to come before the transfer window closes.

With transfer speculation dominating the headlines, many supporters are also following the football throughout the summer via Stake.com while keeping a close eye on Arsenal’s latest transfer activity.

Vinicius Jr remains the dream signing

Few stories have generated more excitement this summer than Arsenal’s reported interest in Vinicius Jr.

The Brazilian remains locked in contract discussions with Real Madrid, with reports suggesting there is still no agreement over a new deal despite fresh negotiations. Arsenal continue to be linked with what would undoubtedly become the biggest transfer in the club’s history should a deal somehow become possible.

While Real Madrid are understandably determined to keep one of the world’s elite forwards, Arsenal supporters will continue watching developments closely until the situation is resolved.

Bruno Guimaraes edging ever closer?

Another saga that appears to be moving towards a conclusion is Arsenal’s pursuit of Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes.

The Brazilian midfielder has long been admired by Arteta and recent reports suggest Arsenal are increasingly confident of completing a deal with Guimaraes expected to become an Arsenal player shortly.

BBC Sport also reported today that talks over the potential transfer remain ongoing.

Should the move be completed, Arsenal would arguably possess one of the strongest midfields in European football.

Outgoings could continue before deadline day

Incoming transfers are only one part of Arsenal’s summer business.

Leandro Trossard has completed a move to Besiktas, while Patrick Vieira appears increasingly likely to complete a permanent switch to Hamburg after spending last season out on loan.

Midfielder Christian Norgaard, who joined Arsenal from Brentford last summer, is reportedly  expected to complete a move to Everton soon.

Further departures cannot be ruled out as Arsenal continue trimming the squad before the window closes.

Plenty more twists to come

If the first few days of August are anything to go by, Arsenal supporters can expect plenty more twists and turns before deadline day arrives.

Whether it’s the pursuit of Vinicius Jr, the expected arrival of Bruno Guimaraes or further movement in the departure lounge, Arsenal remain one of the busiest clubs in the market.

One thing seems certain – this transfer window is far from over.
