Arteta confirms Arsenal injury blow for Champions League semi-final first leg

Kai Havertz will miss Arsenal’s Champions League semi-final first leg against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
The Arsenal forward was forced off with another injury during his side’s 1-0 win over Newcastle on Saturday.
And after missing training ahead of the game, boss Mikel Arteta has confirmed he will not play a part on Wednesday.

Jurrien Timber also remains sidelined, but Ebere Eze is fit to feature after also coming off against Newcastle.
“Kai is out and Ebz is ready to go,” Arteta said.
“Jurrien is not in the squad.”
Asked when Timber could be back, the Arsenal boss said: “We don’t know yet. He’s doing some stuff on the pitch at the moment but we need to get the gears up and be able to for him to do more things before he can compete with us.”
