Arthur Masuaku unsure on Sunderland future as he prepares pre-season return | OneFootball

Arthur Masuaku says he is uncertain about his Sunderland future as he gets set to report back for pre-season.

"Honestly, I don't know," he told Sports News Africa. "At the end of the month I will return to training at my club, I will play and regarding the rest of my career my agent will handle it. For now I'm going back to my club."

The left-sided defender joined Sunderland last summer, featured during the first half of the campaign, then moved to Lens on loan in January in search of regular football.

His longer-term situation remains unresolved as the Black Cats continue to refine their squad. Masuaku arrived with top-flight, European and international experience.

Sunderland are preparing for a season that will include Premier League and Europa League football, with several matters still to finalise.

Granit Xhaka’s future is now settled and Eliezer Mayenda has joined Rennes, while focus has shifted to further arrivals and potential exits as Régis Le Bris shapes his group.
