AS Roma welcome Hellas Verona to the Stadio Olimpico for a crucial Serie A clash on Sunday.
The Giallorossi will be aiming to maintain their top four push after a positive start under new manager Gian Piero Gasperini, while Verona are still in search of their opening win of the season.
Injuries have become a headache for the home side. Paulo Dybala will be unavailable due to a persistent hamstring issue, with Gasperini confirming the Argentine will only be considered after the October international fixtures. New arrival Leon Bailey also continues his recovery from a muscular problem and is yet to feature for the Giallorossi since arriving from Aston Villa.
There is some good news, though, as Mario Hermoso and Brazilian full-back Wesley are now fit and likely to be included in the matchday squad. Lorenzo Pellegrini, having delivered a strong performance off the bench against Nice, is poised for a recall to the starting lineup after his surprise inclusion in the Derby della Capitale.
Offensively, Roma’s choices remain thin. Artem Dovbyk and Evan Ferguson are in contention for the striker’s role, but despite Dovbyk gaining sharpness, Gasperini has highlighted the need for greater movement and dynamism across the attack.
Possible AS Roma starting XI: Svilar; Hermoso, Mancini, Ndicka; Wesley, Cristante, Kone, Angelino; Soule, Pellegrini; Ferguson
Roma and Verona will kick off at 2pm BST on Sunday, 28th September.
