TSG Hoffenheim striker Fisnik Asllani has reportedly decided to join RB Leipzig, with him now closing in on one of the biggest Bundesliga transfers of the summer.

According to Bild, the 23-year-old has chosen Leipzig despite attracting interest from several other clubs. Personal terms are reportedly close to being finalized, leaving the two Bundesliga clubs to complete the remaining details of the deal. Hoffenheim are expected to receive close to €30 million through the striker's release clause.

Further indications that a move is imminent came on Sunday, as Hoffenheim confirmed that Asllani would NOT travel with the squad to their training camp in Seefeld, Austria. The Kosovo international has also been absent from the club's recent pre-season matches, suggesting both parties are preparing for his departure.

Leipzig have been working on the transfer for several weeks but were first looking to reshape their attacking department before completing the deal. The club recently moved closer to signing Mohamed Amoura from Wolfsburg, while several departures - including Yan Diomande's expected move to Real Madrid - could create further room in the squad.

Asllani enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with Hoffenheim last season, registering 11 goals and 10 assists in 35 competitive appearances. His performances also attracted reported interest from Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona, but Leipzig now appear set to secure one of the Bundesliga's most sought-after young forwards.
