ASSE ultras’ dissolution threat recedes as Laurent Nuñez declines to oppose advisory panel | OneFootball

After two months of anxiety, ASSE’s two main ultra groups, Magic Fans and Green Angels, have seen the threat of dissolution recede. The Interior Minister has told the club he will not go against an advisory commission’s view.

According to Le Progres, Laurent Nuñez informed a Saint-Étienne executive last Wednesday that he would not oppose the Commission nationale consultative de prévention des violences lors des manifestations sportives, which had issued an unfavourable opinion on dissolution.

ASSE will not have Ligue 1, but supporters will at least keep their ultras groups.

The message arrived the day after Les Verts drew 0-0 with Nice. It came just before a downbeat end to the campaign.

For the Magic Fans and the Green Angels, the immediate danger has eased. The push to dissolve the groups has moved further away.
