Aston Villa are braced for bids for Lamare Bogarde this summer, with Brighton and Sunderland monitoring the 22-year-old midfielder.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, he is yet to sign a new contract at Villa Park and the club would consider offers that approach their valuation.
Bogarde made 44 appearances last season in a breakthrough year, filling in both in midfield and at right-back. Unai Emery values the Feyenoord academy graduate’s versatility.
While Brighton have tracked him for some time, any Sunderland move is likely to hinge on the future of their captain, Granit Xhaka, who this week was the subject of a rejected bid from Chelsea.
Bogarde signed his most recent deal in March last year, though talks over a longer agreement are currently on hold.
Villa are seeking a right-back to compete with Matty Cash. Attempts to sign Brazil international Emerson Royal from Flamengo have stalled in recent days, with the former Tottenham defender viewed as good value but Flamengo unwilling to sanction a move due to their lack of cover.
Emery also wants a striker and two attacking wide players, with Villa again trying to balance the market to avoid further breaches of financial rules.
