Aston Villa complete the signing of João Gomes | OneFootball

Aston Villa have secured the signing of midfielder João Gomes from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Villans have been keen to reinforce in midfield this summer with Amadou Onana out for an extended period and Youri Tielemans departing the club for Manchester United. Meanwhile, Morgan Rogers is also expected to leave the club for Chelsea shortly.

After the arrival of Johan Manzambi, the Lions have now announced the signing of João Gomes for a reported £35 million.

The 25-year-old initially made his move to English football from Flamengo and went on to feature 130 times for Wolves in all competitions, chipping in with eight goals and six assists.

Reports have suggested that Unai Emery was influential in the signing of the Brazilian international, with the manager looking to take the player to the next level.
