Aston Villa forward Mullett joins Southampton on loan | OneFootball

Southampton have completed the signing of Aston Villa forward Georgia Mullett on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Saints this evening.

The 19-year-old is a product of the Aston Villa academy system. Mullett made her senior debut for The Villans in a 3-1 home victory over Reading in the Barclays Women’s Super League in November 2022. The forward has made 15 appearances for Aston Villa in total while she is still awaiting her first goal in senior football.

On the international stage, Mullett is a current member of the England Under-19 squad.

After joining Southampton, Mullett said “The style of play I think really suits me as a striker to get minutes in this league.

“The team seems really close and I feel like they can get through anything, so I can’t wait to be a part of that.

“I feel like I can offer depth in behind, making those quick runs in behind defences but I can also come and support and pin the ball, so hopefully, we’ll be able to see that in the second half of the season.”

Mullett could make her Southampton debut at Durham on Sunday afternoon.
