Aston Villa are considering bringing Douglas Luiz back to the club with the West Midlands side light in midfield.
With the news that Boubacar Kamara will miss the rest of the season, John McGinn is out for six weeks, and a potential injury to Youri Tielemans at the weekend, Unai Emery's side are desperate for bodies in the middle of the park.
Despite having been linked with a move for Ruben Loftus-Cheek earlier in the window, Villa are now said to be 'strongly considering' bringing Douglas Luiz back to the club according to journalist Jacob Tanswell of The Athletic.
The Brazilian spent five seasons at Villa Park in which he played 204 games, scoring 22 goals and making 24 assists. Luiz then left Villa for Juventus in the summer of 2024 but joined Nottingham Forest on loan this season.
Villa may have competition for Luiz though with Chelsea having previously been linked to the 27-year-old.
