On Saturday, PSG announced the arrival of their new goalkeeper, Lucas Chevalier, who comes over from LOSC Lille and will replace Gianluigi Donnarumma. Moreover, the Frenchman shared what convinced him to join the Parsians despite having other suitors and the presence of Donnaruma.
In June, ESPN reported, citing sources, that Aston Villa reached out to LOSC Lille about a possible move for Chevalier. The report mentioned he was being eyed as a potential replacement for Emiliano Martínez, who is looking to leave the club.
Meanwhile, The Sun previously reported that Manchester United might be interested as well. According to the outlet, they’re watching Chevalier and Royal Antwerp’s Senne Lammens.

Despite rumors linking him to the Premier League, Chevalier chose to remain in Ligue 1 and become the starting goalkeeper for the reigning UEFA Champions League winner.
“I am a kid that is living his dream,” Chevalier told PSG’s official website. “Ever since I was small I wanted to play at the very highest level. I would like to thank the Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Luis Campos and the coach, Luis Enrique, all his coaching staff and everyone that worked hard to get me to Paris Saint-Germain. I’m really delighted to be here. I will wear this shirt with passion and ambition.”
The question now is what will happen with Donnarumma and whether PSG made the right decision to pivot to Plan B rather than paying the Italy international.
