Manuel Angel, known affectionately as “Mami” in Valdebebas, is quickly becoming one of the brightest young talents at Real Madrid, reports Rodra (h/t Rm4 Arab).
The journalist writes that the youngster’s abilities have caught the attention of the club’s management, as well as several clubs with substantial financial backing.
In that regard, Premier League side Aston Villa are reportedly one of the teams closely monitoring his progress. While there have been no concrete developments regarding a transfer at the moment, clubs are keeping a keen eye on him, aware of his potential.
Mami’s journey this season has been a tough one due to recurring injuries. After battling back issues and hamstring problems, he struggled to make an impact on the pitch for much of the season.
Up until January 2025, he had only played a mere 74 minutes of football, which kept him from showing his full potential.
However, as the new year began, he appeared to leave his injury woes behind and has once again become a key figure in Real Madrid Castilla’s midfield.
His return to form has coincided with a significant improvement in the team’s performance, which has seen them go unbeaten in their last four matches.
Mami’s quality, combined with his leadership and maturity on the pitch, has injected fresh energy into the squad.
Alongside top scorer Gonzalo, who has already netted 19 goals in the league, and Jacobo Raman’s return, Mami’s presence has been vital to Castilla’s resurgence.
Recent victories, including away wins against Algeciras and a home victory over Alcoyano, are a testament to his impact on the team.
Real Madrid are aware of Mami’s rising value, and while there’s no immediate move, the attention from clubs like Aston Villa shows just how highly regarded he is both at home and abroad.
