Aston Villa look set to be without Jadon Sancho for next week’s Europa League quarter-final against Bologna because of a shoulder injury, according to ExpressAndStar.com.
The winger is expected to miss at least two weeks after being hurt in last week’s 1-1 friendly draw with Elche.
Sancho fell awkwardly during the first half of the match in Spain, staged during a warm weather training camp for the club’s non-international players.
He is believed to have damaged a shoulder joint and will only return to training when pain free.
His absence at the start of the run-in is a blow for Unai Emery.
Sancho has endured inconsistent form since joining on a season-long loan last September, scoring once in 31 appearances.
Two of his three assists arrived in the wins over Lille and West Ham immediately before the international break.
Villa return to action with the first leg in Bologna on Thursday, 9 April.
