Senegalese youngster Ibrahim Mbaye is keen to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer in search of more game tiime.
Mbaye made just 11 starts across all competitions last season, with Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue being the preferred attacking trio.
Maghnes Akliouche’s potential arrival from Monaco could further reduce his game time.
Aston Villa and Tottenham have been linked with the 18-year-old, but the Villans are showing stronger interest, according to Journalist Santi Aouna.
However, Unai Emery’s side have yet to make a formal approach for the PSG youngster.
Tottenham, meanwhile, could be prioritising a move for Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi over Mbaye. They are reportedly preparing a £85 million bid for the French striker.
Villa are looking to strengthen their attack to cope with European and domestic demands next season.
The West Midlands side lacked quality depth in the wide areas last season, with Jadon Sancho’s departure after the end of his loan spell further highlighting the need to bolster their attack.
Although naturally a right winger, Mbaye can be deployed on the left flank and as an attacking midfielder.
The Senegal international possesses explosive pace, exceptional dribbling and off-the-ball movement, allowing him to be a goalscoring threat. He could be a good addition to Villa.
That said, Mbaye needs to be more consistent with his decision-making in the final third and improve his physicality. Those improvements should come with experience.
While Villa are exploring multiple targets to bolster their attack, they are not ready to weaken their squad by selling Morgan Rogers.
The England international has been strongly linked with Arsenal, but the Villans insist he is not for sale.
