Aston Villa begin their FA Cup campaign this evening when West Ham arrive in the Midlands.

Unai Emery has his sights on ending the club’s 29-year wait for a major trophy and will view the FA Cup as an ambition this season. Villa are in the race for a top-four finish once again and have impressed in the Champions League this season.

Villa will wear a commemorative black kit for tonight’s clash, as the club’s 150th anniversary celebrations continue.

West Ham are the visitors tonight and will be under the management of Graham Potter for the first time. The former Chelsea and Brighton boss was named as Julen Lopetegui’s successor at the London Stadium on Thursday.

John McGinn joined the absentee list last weekend after the Villa captain sustained a hamstring injury. McGinn was withdrawn in the first half of the club’s 2-1 win over Leicester at Villa Park. He joins Diego Carlos and Pau Torres on the sidelines, while Jhon Duran completes his three-match ban this evening.

Morgan Rogers is back available after a one-game suspension. Amid a run of seven games in the next 22 days, Emery could rotate his side for this clash. The likes of Ian Maatsen, Ross Barkley and Emi Buendia are among the names who will be hoping for starts.
