At 40, Ronaldo Keeps Shattering Records With Portugal
Cristiano Ronaldo continued rewriting football history on Tuesday night as he struck again for Portugal in their 2026 World cup qualifier against Hungary.
The 40 year old forward won and converted penalty in the 58 minute giving his team the lead in Budapest. That goal was his 39th in World cup qualifying pulling him level with Guatemala’s Carlos Ruiz as the all time top scorer in the competition’s history.
Ronaldo’s numbers remain staggering. The Al Nassr star now boasts 223 international caps with 141 goal for Portugal alongside extraordinary career tally of 943 goal for club & country.
Even at 40, the 5 time Ballon d’or winner continues to chase records and lead his nation’s charge toward another World cup appearance.
