Manchester City’s bid to sign Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt hit a snag yesterday. Sam Lee and Sebastian Stafford-Bloor reported for The Athletic that City’s opening bid for the Egyptian international was rejected. That news wasn’t a huge cause for concern as the expectation was that City and Eintracht would find an agreement that would see Marmoush join Pep Guardiola’s squad. Now it appears that a deal has been agreed between the two clubs that will see Marmoush join Manchester City. That is a huge boost for Pep Guardiola’s side as they appear to have finally landed their number-one transfer target.
David Ornstein has reported for the Athletic that Manchester City have reached a verbal with Eintracht Frankfurt over the transfer of Omar Marmoush. Furthermore, Ornstein reports that personal terms between the Egyptian international and City are not an issue.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also reported that Omar Marmoush will now join Manchester City. Furthermore, Romano reports that a deal has been agreed between the two clubs after a final round of negotiations today. Lastly, it is reported by Romano that Marmoush will sign a 5-year deal with the world champions.
It now appears that it is only a matter of time before Omar Marmoush will become a Manchester City player. That possibility had been in play all week as negotiations between Manchester City and Eintracht Frankfurt had continued all week. Now it appears that the formalities are over and Marmoush will complete his move to Pep Guardiola’s side in the coming days.
Omar Marmoush will add exactly what Manchester City have lacked this season. He has scored 20 goals and added 14 assists for Eintracht Frankfurt this season. His play has seen his team rise up the Bundesliga table and see Eintracht battle for qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League. The hope is now that he can bring that form to the Etihad. Based on everything he has shown this season there is little reason to doubt that he will. Marmoush will something different to City’s squad and will take the some of the scoring burden off of Erling Haaland. That is a huge boost to Pep Guardiola’s squad and to City’s chances of claiming a top four finish this season and challenging for silverware on multiple fronts.
At long last Manchester City have finally agreed on a deal to sign Omar Marmoush. That is a huge boost for the world champions and now they can focus strengthening other areas of their squad for the remainder of the January transfer window.
