Nottingham Forest expect movement both ways this summer, with Atalanta pushing to sign Nicolo Savona before the window opens on Monday, 15 June. GOAL reports Atalanta are in talks and view the full-back as a concrete option as they anticipate Marco Palestra’s departure.

Signed from Juventus 12 months ago on a five-year deal worth €13m (£11m), Savona made 20 appearances before a knee injury. Talks are said to be under way, with contact made with his representatives, and recouping that outlay could be considered good business.

Eintracht Frankfurt are working on Arnaud Kalimuendo, but a reported £23m option is seen as too high, with suggestions their total budget is near £17m. Bild claims the clubs remain in talks, Forest are willing to sell and Eintracht hope to raise funds by moving players on. Forest paid £26m to sign him from Rennes, so the room for compromise is unclear.

Midfield additions are being explored if Elliot Anderson departs, after January efforts fell short. Forest had three bids rejected for Celtic’s Arne Engels, including an offer up to £25m. Sky Sports says they remain keen, with Fulham and Sunderland mentioned and West Ham also linked.

Forest were credited with interest in Gremio defender Viery last month, but that pursuit looks difficult. Tuttomercatoweb reports a €50m (£43m) release clause and a contract running to 31 December 2029. Gremio are said to be in no rush to sell after turning down €12m, while Bologna and Fiorentina are also keen.
