Athletic Club star ruled out vs Barcelona | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Athletic Club will be forced to make do without a key member of their frontline in the club’s upcoming showdown with Barcelona.

This comes amid confirmation that Iñaki Williams has been ruled out for the fixture.

Frontman Iñaki is for his part sidelined at present, after suffering a hamstring injury late in the month of October.

Initially ruled out long-term, speculation had begun to spread of late that the Ghanaian international was ahead of schedule in his recovery, therefore potentially in line to play his part against Barcelona.

As alluded to above, however, on Friday, it was announced that this will not be the case.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference this afternoon, Ernesto Valverde confirmed that his captain is not yet fit, potentially set to return at some point next week.

In more positive news for Athletic, on the other hand, both Nico Williams and Oihan Sancet have been given the medical green light to feature at the Spotify Camp Nou on Saturday.
