It looks like Antony’s time at Manchester United might finally be coming to an end.

Spanish reports suggest Atlético de Madrid are close to agreeing a deal to sign the winger, with a €40 million offer already on the table.

The Brazilian winger has been out on loan at Real Betis since January, after struggling to make a consistent impact at Old Trafford. United spent a whopping £87 million on him back in 2022, but things never really clicked for him in a Red Devils shirt.

Since heading to La Liga, though, he’s looked sharper. In 20 appearances for Betis across all competitions, he’s chipped in with seven goals and five assists – and that upturn in form has clearly caught some attention.

Betis were reportedly keen on keeping him permanently, but it now looks like Atletico have jumped to the front of the queue. According to the latest reports, they’re close to sealing a move and have already tabled a €40 million offer to United.

The club are said to be happy to let Antony leave this summer, and this move could be the beginning of a busy transfer window at Old Trafford.
