Atlético Madrid frustrated by Julian Alvarez exit rumours | OneFootball

Atlético Madrid have pushed back at growing speculation and do not expect Julian Alvarez to leave this summer.

Club sources told AS that Alvarez is not for sale, adding the club has received no offers and held no meetings regarding his future.

The Argentina forward joined Atlético in August 2024. Links with Barcelona have intensified in recent weeks, especially after the team’s eliminations from the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.

The Athletic had reported talk of an offer close to €100 million and negotiations with Barcelona said to be well advanced.

Figures close to the club are said to be exasperated by what they describe as months of lies and half truths, and they accuse Barcelona of acting like a small club in the Alvarez case.
