Arsenal may face considerable competition in the race to sign Manu Koné (25), who will be allowed to leave AS Roma this summer.
L’Équipe reported earlier this month that Arsenal were keen on the midfielder, who started in France’s win over Iraq in the 2026 FIFA World Cup earlier this week. Roma, in financial difficulty, are consigned to losing the former Toulouse FC man.
Whilst Koné’s contract runs until 2029, a departure this summer is seen as likely. Arsenal is a potential destination, as is Atletico Madrid, as per a report from Sacha Tavolieri. The Franco-Belgian journalist understands that delegates from the La Liga club have made several trips to the Italian capital to watch the midfielder.
He has become their priority target in the midfield. However, Tavolieri adds that a back-up option is also being considered. He comes in the form of Mandela Keita, a Belgian midfielder who plays at Parma.
