A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga heavyweights Atlético Madrid is inching towards a move to Major League Soccer, with Inter Miami.

That’s according to market insider Fabrizio Romano, who points to Rodrigo De Paul as the player in question.

Argentine international De Paul has seen his name dominate the transfer chatter in Spain’s capital across the week to date.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the aforementioned Inter Miami had set their sights on an audacious deal for the former Udinese man.

And if the latest word stemming from the media over the last 24 hours is anything to go by, then progress towards precisely as much, it would appear, has already been made.

As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:

‘Understand Inter Miami have made progress in talks with Atlético Madrid for Rodrigo de Paul! Negotiations underway with deal now advancing well, as revealed on Monday. Rodrigo said yes to Inter Miami and the two clubs are also getting closer to an agreement.’

In the case of the transfer coming to fruition over the coming weeks, De Paul would link up with friend and international teammate Lionel Messi in Florida.
