Following the signing of Anthony Gordon, FC Barcelona have completely turned their focus on the pursuit of Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez.
The Argentine striker is the preferred target for the La Liga champions as they seek a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski who said goodbye to the club at the end of the season.
An opening offer worth €100 million has allegedly been made, something that Atleti deny. Meanwhile, other clubs like Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain continue to show an interest in the 26-year-old.
However, according to reports in England, as relayed by Mundo Deportivo, Alvarez’s agent, Fernando Hidalgo, has informed both Arsenal and PSG that all current efforts are focused on securing the forward’s transfer to Barcelona.

Both Arsenal and PSG have been actively monitoring the striker’s situation and have already explored the possibility of signing him this summer.
The two clubs have held discussions regarding a potential deal and were hoping to position themselves strongly should Atletico become willing to negotiate.
However, Alvarez’s preference for Barcelona is proving to be a major stumbling block for both clubs. His representatives have made it clear that their immediate priority is to work towards a move to the Spotify Camp Nou, leaving Arsenal and PSG waiting on the sidelines.

At this stage, the main obstacle for Barcelona remains Atletico Madrid’s unwillingness to negotiate, with the Spanish capital club even waging a ‘war’ on social media with the Catalans.
Despite the situation, for now, Barcelona remain the clear priority for Alvarez, with his representatives concentrating their efforts on finding a path that could eventually persuade Atletico Madrid to sanction the transfer.
