Atletico Madrid 'to monitor' Jeremy Doku for summer move | OneFootball

Atletico Madrid are planning a busy summer, with the forward line under review and possible exits for Antoine Griezmann and Alexander Sorloth at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano. Director of football Mateu Alemany is drawing up targets for Diego Simeone’s squad.

According to TEAMtalk, Atletico are monitoring Manchester City and Belgium winger Jeremy Doku’s situation. He could be available in the summer if he continues to miss out on regular starts under Pep Guardiola.

Any move would be almost impossible if Doku agrees a new contract with City before the window opens in July. Talks are already under way between the club and player, and City, beaten by Real Madrid on Wednesday, hope to reach a positive outcome before the end of the season.

Atleti signed Ademola Lookman in January, which raises questions over whether another winger is required. Even so, Doku would be viewed as a top addition if Simeone can bring greater consistency to his game, which has been lacking at City.

Atleti have enjoyed a productive relationship with City after the deal that took Julian Alvarez to the Riyadh Air Metropolitano in summer 2024, which could offer a slight edge. Alemany did not oversee that transfer, with Andrea Berta, now at Arsenal, in charge at the time.
