La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have been made aware of the alleged asking price for a leading summer transfer target.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Giorgio Scalvini as the player in question.
Stopper Scalvini is for his part in the midst of a difficult campaign to date, which has seen the Italian international struggle with a string of fitness problems.
Owing in large part to an ACL injury suffered last season, the 21-year-old has racked up just eight appearances across all competitions in the colours of Atalanta.
If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, though, then his prior performances had evidently long proven sufficient to convince those behind the scenes at the aforementioned Atlético.
This comes amid confirmation that the Rojiblancos are interested in bringing Scalvini in this summer.
Not only that, but Diego Simeone and co. are now aware of the kind of financial outlay likely to be required to strike a deal with Atalanta.
As per MD:
‘According to reports from Italy, Atalanta have already set an asking price for the player to all clubs interested in him. We’re talking about a sum of no less than 40 million euros.’
