Atlético Madrid attacker closing on 1,000-minute mark without a goal | OneFootball

A headline member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid is closing on an altogether unwanted personal milestone.

The player in question? Antoine Griezmann.

Frontman Griezmann has for his part long looked some way off his brilliant best in the colours of Atlético.

As much has been firmly reflected in the Frenchman’s output in front of goal, with the extent of his current drought having this week been summed up by Mundo Deportivo.

Griezmann, all told, has not managed to find the net in a La Liga fixture since doing so against RCD Mallorca all the way back in February.

Since, the 34-year-old has gone scoreless in 19 consecutive Rojiblancos outings.

With many of his appearances over this stretch having come off the bench, Griezmann’s drought, in minutes, currently amounts to 933.

As much means that, should he not manage to correct the situation over the coming weeks, the Atléti icon will surpass the 1,000-minute mark before long.
