La Liga giants Atlético Madrid will be forced to make do without the contributions of an important member of the club’s backline in their Champions League 2nd leg meeting with Barcelona.
The player in question? Marc Pubill.
Atlético are of course currently locked in action on the continent.
Locking horns with Spanish top-flight rivals Barcelona for the 2nd time in the space of mere days, Diego Simeone’s troops have made the trip to the Spotify Camp Nou.
As things stand, the Rojiblancos find themselves in control of proceedings, leading by a goal to nil in Catalunya’s capital.
As alluded to above, though, along the way, Atléti have also seen their personnel options for next week’s return leg take a hit.
After flooring Robert Lewandowski inside his own half on the stroke of half-time, Marc Pubill was shown a yellow card.
Owing to an accumulation of bookings in the Champions League, the full-back has in turn been ruled out of next week’s quarter-final 2nd leg showdown at the Metropolitano.
